Monstera Deliciosa in Ceramic Pot

COMMON NAME: MONSTERA, FRUIT SALAD PLANT, SWISS CHEESE

The Monstera Deliciosa or also known as the Swiss Cheese plant is native to tropical rainforests of southern Mexico. It is a climbing epiphyte, and can be seen climbing to the rainforest canopy and attaching itself with its roots to other trees. It also produces edible fruit, which tastes similar to a fruit salad.

The Monstera is a very popular houseplant easily recognised by its beautiful large glossy leaves that are dissected with deep splits and perforated with oblong holes. Its young leaves are heart shaped and without holes. The Monstera is easy to grow and suitable for beginner green thumbs.
